Service Analyst

The Service Analyst is an entry level / junior role that assists our Service Consultants/Senior Service Consultants in the support of production application software. This includes assisting with troubleshooting issues, customizing existing software code, writing new software code, testing and debugging modifications and ensuring appropriate documentation is generated for software code wherever necessary for RETAIL CONSULT. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with Java skills, who is keen to learn and develop within a global IT consulting business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting our Service/Senior Service Consultants with communication with clients by providing on-call support as needed, during business and non-business hours
  • Support and troubleshoot production client environments
  • Assist with the logging, reporting, and resolution of application issues
  • Ensure Product vendor and RETAIL CONSULT development standards are met in all coding practices
  • Assist in maintaining the RETAIL CONSULT software development environment
  • Assist in defining application enhancements and modifications

  • Professional approach when dealing with internal and external customers, including clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and willingness to provide exceptional customer service
  • High degree of initiative, accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining a positive attitude under stressful circumstances
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information
  • Strong ability to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change in a complex global organization
  • Must have experience in Java or other
  • Must have experience in one of the following: PL/SQL, C/C++, Oracle ProC, ADF, Oracle Forms, XML or Unix (shell scripting), Java (J2EE and swing)

Service Manager/Consultant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with clients by providing on-call support as needed, during business and non-business hours
  • Support and troubleshoot production client environments
  • Take ownership of or assist with the logging, reporting, and resolution of application issues
  • Ensure Oracle Retail and RETAIL CONSULT development standards are met in all coding practices
  • Assist in maintaining the RETAIL CONSULT software development environment
  • Build and test application enhancements and modifications
  • Adhere to all RETAIL CONSULT policies, processes and procedures
  • Document or maintain general retail, Oracle Retail, and/or RETAIL CONSULT specific practices and standards
  • Submit Knowledge articles per standards for clients and internal knowledge sharing
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Must have experience in one of the following: PL/SQL, C/C++, Oracle ProC, ADF, Oracle Forms, XML or Unix (shell scripting), Java (J2EE and swing)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in a Computer Science or related field or 2+ years of related experience
  • 2+ years development and/or systems integration experience preferred
  • 2+ years in the Retail industry or an associated IT field preferred
  • 2+ years Oracle Retail software experience preferred
  • ITIL V3 Foundation certificate preferred.
