What we are looking for

We are looking for an R&D Manager to join our ranks and lead our team of highly skilled Researchers on the ongoing and future research projects, working towards solving complex challenges that Jscrambler products are addressing. Jscrambler S.A. is developing advanced Web Applications protection solutions, including JavaScript source code protection, client-side runtime execution defenses and data leakage and Web Sandboxing. 

You will lead the Research & Development team and your main responsibilities will be:

  • Driving the products innovation by researching advances in web application security and Machine Learning that can improve our current and future products;
  • Oversee all aspects of research project management and delivery;
  • Secure National and International Research grants, aligned with the company strategic innovation goals, gathering all necessary research and innovation partnerships;
  • Represent the research team when interacting with internal/external Research and Academic related events and stakeholders;
  • Set and execute a strategy for protecting the company’s intellectual property by filing new patents, conducting prior art searches, drafting technical documents, reviewing patents and interact with patents offices and IP lawyers; 
  • Maintain a close relationship with local universities and engineering schools by submitting LSc/MSc dissertation projects, hosting and supervising students;
  • Contribute to our knowledge about new technologies and techniques;
  • Supervise and coach team members fostering opportunities for them to grow;

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2+ years working in a similar function (R&D Manager/ Project Manager)
  • Applicants should hold a degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar areas.
  • Experience securing funding for R&D activities (national and international grants)
  • Experience leading a technical team
  • Experience working on Machine Learning projects
  • Experience writing patent applications and scientific papers
  • Experience working on Web or Mobile Application projects is valued
  • Experience working on Web Security or Application Security is valued
  • Experience working on JavaScript or Browser related projects is valued
