SWITCH is a 2 day event created by Ricardo Sousa back in 2009 aimed to gather people together to discuss ideas and share knowledge. We gather people from different background (science, technology, web, politics, etc) in one place for a full weekend for a inspiring adventure of knowledge. The first edition took place in Coimbra in 2010 and gathered 20 amazing speakers that discussed and shared ideas with more than 150 attendees and almost 1.000 people that watched the free live stream online. Those produced enough tweets to rank us the first discussed topic in twitter in Portugal for two days.
Knowing that almost 90% of our attendees said they would attend the second edition of the conference we started organizing the 2011 edition that this year will take place in Oporto, one of the finest cities in our county that will be the ideal hosting city for inspiring our audience.
Focusing on entrepreneurship, technology, science and innovation we hope SWITCH can be the place to launch ideas, meet wonderful people, get to know things you haven't heard about and enjoy a fully worthwhile weekend of discovery.
