Join the yellow team as our new Senior Java Developer (API & Microservices)!

Responsibilities:

  • Define enterprise standards for the service catalogue, registry, gateway, and mesh to ensure consistency, discoverability, observability, and governance across the API management platform.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison, engaging with upstream and downstream teams to harmonize and coordinate the API service management ecosystem during both PoC/trial and implementation phases.
  • Drive the evolution of the API platform by implementing new features such as API mocking, testing, custom plugins/add-ons, and MCP server integrations, aligning with the product roadmap.
  • Design, build, and automate the publication, versioning, and lifecycle management of all API specifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway (OSS or Enterprise), including configuration, policy enforcement, and management.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and expertise with API specifications, especially OpenAPI (Swagger).
  • Solid knowledge of modern API security (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, mTLS, API Keys).
  • Experience automating build, test, and deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Go, or Bash) for automation.
  • Excellent communication skills; resilient and goal-oriented.
  • Driven by technology and challenges.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Important information:

  • Must be living in Portugal.
  • Hybrid work model - 2 days per week in the office in Almada or Aveiro.
