Senior QA Engineer

IT House is looking for a Senior QA Engineer for a direct placement with an end client in the Transport & Logistics sector, located in Porto.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive testing strategies for software quality, performance and reliability;
• Design, create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases and test scripts based on complex product requirements;
• Perform thorough manual testing to identify defects, ensure functionality and validate user experience, including exploratory testing;
• Identify, document and track defects, collaborating closely with development teams;
• Mentor and support junior Quality Assurance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning;
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery;
• Design and execute complex performance tests, analyze results and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g. ISTQB) are highly desirable;
• Extensive experience as a Quality Engineer or similar QA role, with deep understanding of software testing methodologies;
• Advanced proficiency in automated testing tools (e.g. Cypress, JUnit) and scripting languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript); experience with performance testing tools is essential;
• Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Demonstrated ability to lead Quality Assurance initiatives and mentor junior team members;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration;
• Familiarity with invoicing, logistics or supply chain industry is advantageous;
• Good knowledge of English.
