WIT Software creates products and solutions for the Telecom industry and has a very strong background on Messaging, IP Voice and Video, Unified Communications, Telecom VAS services, IPTV and Mobile Money. The company has 23 years of existence and works with some of the relevant Telecom companies in the global market, from Europe, Japan, US and Africa.
WIT is developing an innovative software product that leverages emerging concepts from the latest generation of IMS and mobile telecommunications networks. This product has the potential for commercial distribution to hundreds of mobile operators and service providers, reaching millions of users across various geographies worldwide.
We are seeking a talented Site Reliability Engineer to help our team ensuring all the user-facing services and production systems are running smoothly. If you enjoy systems architecture and systems administration, have good communication skills and want to work with major Telecom operators using our innovative solutions, this is the opportunity you are looking for.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set guidelines and best practices on reliability, security, monitoring and alerting;
• Improve operational processes such as deployments and upgrades;
• Document actions to turn repeatable actions into automation;
• Coordinate with internal and customer teams to guarantee general availability and resilience of the production environments;
• Respond to incidents that impact system availability;
• Debug production issues across services;
• Work in an OnCall rotation model;
• Update runbooks, tools and documentation allowing other teams to respond to incidents proactively;
Requirements
• BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related;
• Experience in operational best practices in supporting production systems;
• Strong experience with Unix/Linux environments;
• Good knowledge of cloud systems architecture and their implementation;
• Good knowledge of service monitoring metrics and monitoring tools;
• Knowledge in operating microservices in containers is valuable;
• Knowledge on distributed cache systems and event streaming tools is valuable;
• DevSecOps mindset;
• Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure;
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision;
• Capable of prioritizing and managing own workload;
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
