QA Robotics Engineer

The Challenge

• Validate the quality, reliability and safety-related behaviour of Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) software.
• Perform hands-on validation and automation across real and simulated robotic environments.
• Develop Python-based automated tests and maintain regression test suites.
• Create realistic simulation scenarios using Gazebo / Ignition Gazebo.
• Validate robotic workflows including navigation, localisation, obstacle avoidance and sensor interactions.
• Interact with ROS Topics, Services, Actions and Parameters during testing.
• Analyse ROS Bags, application logs and diagnostic outputs to investigate failures.
• Reproduce, isolate and investigate software defects, distinguishing software issues from configuration or environmental conditions.
• Design and maintain test cases, test plans, regression suites and release validation processes.
• Manage test execution, defects and traceability using tools such as Jira, Xray or Zephyr.
• Collaborate closely with Robotics, Backend, DevOps and Product teams to improve software quality.
• Support release readiness assessments and continuously improve validation coverage.

What you bring to the table

• Professional experience in Robotics Software Testing / QA Engineering.
• +4 Years of Experience in QA Engineering
• Strong knowledge of ROS1 and/or ROS2.
• Experience with Python and automated test development.
• Hands-on experience with Gazebo / Ignition Gazebo and simulation-based validation.
• Understanding of robotics concepts such as navigation, localisation, sensor interactions and obstacle avoidance.
• Experience working with ROS Topics, Services, Actions and Parameters.
• Experience analysing logs, ROS Bags and diagnostic outputs to investigate technical failures.
• Knowledge of test case design, regression testing, exploratory testing, defect reporting and release validation.
• Experience with Jira or similar test/defect management tools.
• Ability to investigate and reproduce technical issues independently.
• A structured and methodical approach to testing and quality.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams.
